Do Drama ao Empoderamento (From Drama to Empowerment)

I’m often asked to write articles for various publications, I thought I’d share links as they’re published. This one is for Ssex Bbox, it’s written in Portuguese.

Evolving the Karpman Triangle in the Workplace (Part 2)

In our previous article, we explored Karpman’s Drama Triangle and how its roles—  Victim, Persecutor, and Rescuer  —play out in workplace dynamics, creating cycles of dysfunction and disempowerment. This second installment aims to guide us in changing these dynamics through a framework that is the opposite of the Drama Triangle: The  Empowerment Dynamic (EDD) . EDD is designed to transform the Victim, Persecutor, and Rescuer into healthier, more productive versions of themselves. The Victim becomes the Creator, the Persecutor becomes the Challenger, and the Rescuer becomes the Coach. By consciously evolving our interactions with others, we can transform workplace drama into growth, innovation, and collaboration, and create a culture of harmony, mutuality, and empowerment.

Before we dive into these empowered roles, let’s revisit the steps needed to identify your starting point within the Drama Triangle. The key to transformation lies in self-reflection and honest inquiry into your own biases, blind spots, and motivations.
